Peene Valley River Landscape Nature Park
A unique landscape, created in the Pomeranian Vistula period – this is the Peene Valley. Even today, rare and also less rare animals and plants can be found here.
The Peene is one of the rivers with the most fish species in Germany. A large number of otters and beavers can also be observed here. The gradient of the 104 km long Peene is only 24 centimeters. This has allowed a flooded marsh to develop in its full width of 500 to 700 meters and become home to a distinctive flora and fauna.
The tranquility of the Peene Valley Nature Park invites you to spend a relaxing vacation. In addition, the Peene Valley has been almost completely declared a bird sanctuary. White-tailed eagles and terns will cross your path when you paddle a canoe on the Peene or take a leisurely bike ride.
Go on a discovery tour through one of the largest contiguous lowland moor areas in Central and Western Europe. A trip to the Peene Valley is worth it!
