Freest

The dreamy fishing village Freest is located 10 kilometers north of Wolgast directly by the Peene River. Above all you will find nature in its originality, relaxation and maritime culture.

From the small Freest beach you have a perfect view of Peenemünde. For all nature lovers there is a camping site with additional vacation homes. Camper and caravan vacationers will find a quiet and idyllic place here. In the small Freester Heimatstube you can learn about the local and regional history and purchase traditional hand-knotted fishing carpets.

An idyllic fishing harbor invites you to dream and linger. Treat yourself with a time-out far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the maritime fishing scenery. Coastal and deep-sea fishing boats drop anchor here. A passenger ferry to Peenemünde offers the possibility to reach the island of Usedom within shortest time and without detours. Also excursions to the islands of Oie, Ruden and Rügen can be made from the port of Freest.

The seasonal highlight is the annual fishing festival in Freest, which takes place at the beginning of August. Food stalls, fairground rides, a market and a Ferris wheel from which you can see the Baltic Sea from above - all this and more awaits you at the Fishermen's Festival in Freest!

Beach, forest, water, meadows, fish - come by and experience, smell, taste the originality that Freest has successfully preserved!
