RCE Weltacker Rothenklempenow

The educational project Weltacker Rothenklempenow illustrates how the global arable land is used, how much our future depends on our use of arable land and how individual behavior affects the fields here and elsewhere in the world.

If the global arable land were divided equally among the world's population, each person would have around 2000 square meters of arable land at their disposal. The World Field in Rothenklempenow takes this simple calculation as the starting point for a lively open-air exhibition: the world's most important crops are exhibited on an area of 2000 square meters. In guided tours, our educational advisors give the field a voice and address the most pressing ecological and social challenges of our time. The exhibition can also be explored independently thanks to detailed signage. In a tour, various educational stations explain the background to ecology, characteristics of arable farming and controversial aspects of our consumer behavior in a comprehensible and playful way. Thanks to the partnership with the neighboring Demeter farm of the Rothenklempenow agricultural society and the farm store of the Pomeranian farm community, the knowledge gained can be transferred from the world field to real agriculture. Participating in a field tour; processing fresh vegetables in the Weltackerhaus; visiting the cattle herds of the farm community: the Weltacker Rothenklempenow offers a variety of ways to approach the topic of agriculture. Visitors of all ages can visit the exhibition independently and free of charge from May to October.
