Windsurfing & Kiting
Vorpommern provides many areas perfect for windsurfing and kiting. There are smaller and larger lakes and coves such as the Lagoon of Szczecin, the Peenestrom, the Strelasund, the Achterwasser and the Greifswalder and Barther Bodden. The wind conditions are just as different as the locations.

Peenestrom & Achterwasser
These two areas are particularly suitable for both windsurfers and kiters because:
* it's an enclosed expanse of water [greater security compared to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea]
* there is low boat traffic because deep v boats prefer the Baltic Sea
* the wind conditions are similar to those of the Baltic Sea [strong winds]
* East-West wind around the Streckelsberg near Koserow intensifies the wind coming from the Baltic Sea
* the shallow waters warm up quickly in the spring
* the shallow banks are particularly suitable for windsurfers [average water depth is 2m]
* fans of windsurfing can either use the surf lines on the Baltic Sea or the shallow water tracks with strong wind
Greifswalder Bodden
The Bodden waters are very shallow and therefore provide ideal windsurfing conditions. Lubmin pier is always full of thrilled spectators watching the windsurfers.
Isle of Rügen
The coast of the Isle of Rügen is famous for its strong wind. Every other day, the wind strength is force 3 or above, thus creating perfect windsurfing conditions. The Isle of Rügen belongs to the best surfing areas in Germany.
