Cruising the Baltic Sea

Ferries, riverboats & other passenger ships

Vorpommern offers a multitude of passenger ship excursions. Go aboard and enjoy this special way of exploring our region. There are countless islands to discover, many of which can only be reached by ship.

Passenger ferry services such as the "Weiße Flotte" (White Fleet) not only connect the attractive regions of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern but can also be booked for private purposes. The Isle of Hiddensee, a true Baltic Sea pearl, serves as a wavebreaker and is situated to the east of the Isle of Rügen. Hiddensee is only 18 km long and 1 km wide. Its variety of untouched nature, its unique landscape and the fact that it's car free makes Hiddensee a true recreation resource. There are year round services between Schaprode [Rügen] & Hiddensee and additional summer services between Stralsund, Zingst and Wiek [Rügen] & Hiddensee. A special attraction is the ferry service between the Hanseatic City of Stralsund & Altefähr [Rügen]. The ferry crosses the Strelasund in 15 minutes and provides a breath- taking view over the city's skyline. Several times a day, one hour excursions around Dänholm peninsula take place. It is also possible to take boat rides on the River Peene, also known as the "Amazon of the North", and on the Greifswalder Bodden.
