If you want to get away from everyday life, this is the answer. You will have the company of cows, ducks, dragonflies, ring snakes and the odd kingfisher. The perfect trip for nature lovers who want to enjoy the sound of silence.
You may also want to find some time to visit the beautiful town of Altentreptow, the old castle in Klempenow, the Hanseatic city of Demmin, the very nicely situated village of Nehringen and the church in Tribsees.
Your journey will cover some 115 kilometres in 7 days from Neubrandenburg to Tribsees. From the Tollense Lake, the river Tollense which is approximately 10-20 metres wide, meanders with a drift of 2km/h through a wonderful old river valley as far as the city of Demmin. The Tollense has very clear water, but you have to transit five locks. The Trebel (up to 15 metres wide) flows a little more gently than the Tollense. The river is straight in parts, but you can also follow the natural way with all the turns from Bassendorf to Tribsees. On both rivers you can find silent water trekking stopovers. However, as there is only a limited number of these you might need to simply choose your own place for a quiet night.
